A Fantastic Response to the Week of Prayer for Youth from across Peterborough Diocese!

Connect week of prayerWe were so thrilled and encouraged that across the Diocese people were praying for Young People – for international situations involving young people, for national pressures, issues and problems and at a local level for the young people in their areas and in their churches.

We were especially delighted that at least two churches used the Week to launch a new youth group, so keep on praying, for those groups, especially!

Our Online Worship Gathering was a very interesting experiment – those who joined in and responded seemed to really enjoy linking in with others all over the Diocese and engaging with the Worship ideas (see celery cross below!!), and we are gradually hearing about people who wereCelery cross quietly following the mayhem from their sofas! You can still see some of what happened on our Facebook page or Twitter feed and it’s not too late to comment, give feedback or be ready to join in, next time, when we hope it will be a bit slicker, easier to access and as we will hopefully have learnt from this first attempt! Your comments or ideas would be much appreciated. We believe that gathering online, in the world where most young people live, socialise and communicate is vital for our Mission in the 21st Century – come and join us, and help us do it better!

More Churches in Peterborough Diocese Praying for Young People – and having fun!

During the Week of Prayer we’re hearing about Churches across the Diocese who are taking part and hearing the Call to Pray for our Young People.

It’s been so encouraging to hear of the fun and creative ways you’ve found to get together and pray.

Here’s two churches who have used meals as a focal point…

In Deanshanger Y go MAD shared pizza and prayed…

And I have been sent photos of a Progressive meal around the area near Long Buckby – church members hosting and praying with the young people, as they travelled around the benefice. It looks like they had a great time!

We are thrilled that so many churches are praying for young people this week.

We have visited a few places already this week and taken part in some creative, fun, and thought provoking activities focussed around young people, and we know that you are doing all sorts of things too.

Send us your photos and reports on what you’re doing, to share with others and encourage each other.
